About Us

Joined by his sons, Steven and Ian, in 1986 and 1988 respectively, Kenneth Rayson and Sons Ltd grew steadily and in 1999 moved to larger premises at Stoke Rochford, which today offers CNC machinery to complement the company’s traditional joinery methods

Kenneth Rayson and Sons’ team of experienced carpenters and joiners can offer bespoke and volume joinery services. Whether you are
looking for replacement windows, doors, stairs or conservatories, are extending or refurbishing a property, restoring a period property or undertaking a new build, we can produce high quality joinery to suit all your needs.

We use a variety of timbers including Oak, sapele, accoya and laminated Siberian larch, which although a softwood, is very durable. The glazing can be single or double glazing or a slim heritage style double glazed unit with a low sight line which is often specified on listed
and conservation properties. A factory applied water based micro porous paint finish ensures protection from the elements.

From a timber front or back door, French or stable doors, our beautifully made solid wood or glazed timber doors are made to your specific requirements. Our doors have been designed to suit all need and tastes and to suit all properties. Each door is made to the exact specifications you request, factory glazed and finished. The doors are fitted into the frame using robust hinges and a choice of ironmongery.

All of our windows are made to measure. You can create the look and feel of the windows to match your own needs. From the style, colour, design and type of glazing through to the type of window handles and hardware.

Once you have made your choices, new windows are made to your precise needs and arrive fully glazed and finished ready to enjoy.

Sliding sash windows

Our modern sash windows are faithfully replicated in true Victorian and Georgian designs and very different from the original sash windows installed in houses built in Victorian Britain, still full of character and with slim frames and sashes but with all the latest glass, timber and insulation manufacture.

So our windows not only look as elegant as original sashes, their performance rivals and surpasses many modern windows. Highly insulating, rattle-free and with a smooth easy opening action that offers excellent security; these sash windows are not just replacements they are improvements with all the warmth and recognisable style of the originals. Astragals, or Glazing Bars , can be added to recreate the looks of original windows being restored or updated or to bring a unique style to the property.

Flush casement windows

Our flush casement windows provide the perfect solution for restoration projects and new double glazing installations alike. The modern glass and glazing provide excellent performance whilst strong slim timber sits beautifully in conservation areas or sensitive property developments.

Stormproof windows

These are designed for those harsher environments where an extra level of weather protection is required.

The edge of the window is wider than the opening so when drawn closed it forms a protective lip over the frame to protect against extreme weather conditions. The highly efficient double glazed units and draught stripping maintain excellent insulating properties; making sure they are perfectly suited to properties that experience the worst of the weather.

Whether you are looking for a simple straight staircase or an ornate curved one, we can
create a stair to suit your needs.

We will come to your home to take measurements and ensure that the stair you request will comply with building regulations. We will then manufacture it in our workshop using mortice and tenon joint construction to create a stronger finished product which is pleasing to the eye. You can choose from a range of standard spindles or have one made to your specification. Alternatively, you may like a glass balustrade which we can also supply.

A Staircase is often the focal point of the entrance hall and can look as impressive as a piece of quality furniture.

thinking outside
the box is our motto

Being in the heart of the country we are used to working with old buildings, this means curved designs, un-natural sizes and build support methods that need careful thinking before replacement.

1. Strategic planning

Site visits are key to any planned development, be it a single door replacement or a complete set of windows, we can ensure we will keep you in touch every step of the way.

2. Creating the Dream

Should it be Hardwood or Softwood and what is the difference? Should it be painted or left as bare wood to produce and everlasting beautiful design to be proud off for years to come.

3. The finishing touch

What is the finish? There are so many to choose from, let us help you build the dream, will it be a natural wood finish or a perfectly painted design that will complement its surroundings
